Build an automation
Create an automated email flow in SendCoop: pick a trigger and list, add emails, waits and conditions on the canvas, then switch it on.
An automation sends emails by itself when something happens, such as a new sign-up or a tag being added. You build it once on a visual canvas, switch it on, and it keeps running.
Create the automation
- In the left sidebar, click Automations.
- Click New Automation.
- Under What should trigger this automation?, click a trigger. See Automation triggers.
- Under Configure your trigger, fill in:
- Automation name, for example “Welcome series”.
- Mailing list: the list this automation works with.
- Segment (optional): leave it as All subscribers, or narrow it down.
- Any settings for your trigger, such as Tags for a tag trigger.
- Click Create automation. The flow editor opens.
Add steps
- Click + on the canvas.
- In Add node, choose a step:
- Send email: an email to the subscriber.
- Wait: pause for a time, or until a date.
- Condition: split the flow by whether the subscriber opened or clicked.
- Operation: add or remove tags, copy or move to a list, or update a field.
- Webhook: send data to another app.
- Click a step to set it up in the side panel.
For details, see Automation steps: waits, conditions and actions.
Set up an email step
- Click the email step, then Set up email.
- On Setup, enter the Email subject, From name, From email and Reply to.
- On Email content, choose a template and design it in the editor.
- On Confirm, check everything. Use Send test email to see it in your inbox.
Switch it on
Click Activate in the top bar. The status badge changes to ACTIVE. To stop new people entering, click Pause.
You can also turn automations on and off from the Automations page with Enable and Disable in the row menu.
See how it is doing
- Click Statistics in the editor to see how many people are In workflow, Waiting, Completed or Failed, and the open and click rates for each email.
- If conversion tracking is on, the Automations page shows the revenue each automation earned.
Tips
- In Settings (top bar), you can rename the automation, check its time zone and, if available, choose Stop when subscriber converts, so buyers leave the flow.
- To change a running flow, pause it, make your changes, then activate it again.
- Changing the list of a live automation clears everyone currently in it.
