Verify your sending domain
Add your domain in SendCoop, copy the DNS records to your domain provider and verify them, so your emails are authenticated.
Verifying your domain proves to inbox providers that SendCoop is allowed to send email for you. It is one of the most important steps for good delivery.
Why it matters
Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook and other providers check every email for authentication. Emails from a verified domain are signed with DKIM and are far less likely to land in spam. You also avoid “via” labels next to your name. See SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained.
Before you start
- You need a domain you own, for example yourstore.com, and access to its DNS settings. That is usually where you bought the domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Hostinger) or your DNS host (such as Cloudflare).
- Sending domains must be included in your plan. If they are not, you will see a message asking you to upgrade.
Add your domain
- In the left sidebar, click Settings.
- Under Sending, click Deliverability. The Sending domains tab opens.
- Click Add domain.
- Enter the Domain name, for example
yourstore.com. Leave outhttps://and any path. - Save. SendCoop shows the DNS records for your domain.
Add the DNS records
The Domain authentication page lists each record with its Type, Host / Name and Value. Depending on your setup you will see some or all of these:
- Domain identity: proves you own the domain.
- DKIM signature: lets inbox providers check that the email was not changed in transit.
- SPF record: lists the servers allowed to send for your domain.
- DMARC policy: tells receiving servers what to do with email that fails the checks.
For each record:
- Click Copy next to the Host / Name and paste it into a new record at your DNS provider.
- Set the same Type (usually TXT).
- Click Copy next to the Value and paste it in.
- Save the record.
Copy the host and value exactly as SendCoop shows them. Some DNS providers add your domain to the end of the host automatically. If yours does, paste only the part before your domain.
Verify
- Back in SendCoop, click Verify DNS records.
- When every record is found, you will see “Domain verified successfully! All DNS records are confirmed.” The domain status changes to Verified.
If some records still show Pending, wait and try again. DNS changes can take from 15 minutes up to 48 hours to spread worldwide.
Troubleshooting
- A record stays Pending for days. Check for typos, extra spaces or quotes in the value, and make sure the host is not doubled (for example
yourstore.com.yourstore.com). - You already have an SPF record. A domain can only have one SPF record. Merge the new part into your existing record instead of adding a second one.
- No DMARC record is listed. Add one yourself. See SPF, DKIM and DMARC explained.
