Create a campaign
Every step and setting in the SendCoop campaign wizard, from choosing recipients to launching, plus how to pause, resend and copy campaigns.
The campaign wizard has five steps: Recipients, Setup, Template, Schedule and Confirm. Your progress is saved at each step, so you can come back to a draft later.
Choose a campaign type
- In the left sidebar, click Campaigns.
- Click Create campaign.
- Pick a type and click Create:
- Regular Campaign: a designed HTML email. This is the one most people use.
- Plain Text: a text-only email, with no design.
- A/B Test: try different versions and send the winner. See Run an A/B test.
Step 1: Recipients
- Choose a Mailing list.
- Optional: choose a Segment to send to only part of the list. If you don’t, the campaign goes to the whole list.
- To send to more than one list, click Add another list.
- Click Save & Continue.
Step 2: Setup
- Enter a Campaign name. Only you see it.
- Enter the Email subject. Type
{{to insert a merge tag such as the first name. - Set the From name, the From email and, if you want replies to go elsewhere, the Reply-to email.
- Optional advanced settings:
- Track opens and Track clicks: record who opens and clicks. Keep these on to get full reports.
- Tracking domain: use your own tracking domain for links, if you have set one up.
- Click Save & Continue.
Step 3: Template
- Pick a design from the Template gallery. You can switch between System templates and My templates. To use your own code, open Your Custom HTML.
- Click Open email builder to edit the design. See Use the drag-and-drop email editor.
- Fill in the Preheader text: the short line shown after the subject in the inbox. Keep it under 100 characters, and click Save.
- Optional: add Attachments.
- Check the Inbox score panel. See Check your inbox score.
- Click Continue to Schedule.

Step 4: Schedule
Choose Send now or Schedule for later. See Schedule a campaign.
Step 5: Confirm
Check the Campaign summary and the Pre-flight checklist, send yourself a test with Send test email, then click Launch Campaign.
Manage campaigns
On the Campaigns page, use the tabs (All, Drafts, Scheduled, Sending, Sent, Paused) to find a campaign. The menu at the end of each row has:
- Edit and View report
- Replicate: copy the campaign under a new name.
- Pause and Resume
- Resend: send again to people who didn’t open, who opened but didn’t click, or who didn’t receive it.
- Send test email
- Archive and Delete
